Letter: Appalled with some views on abortion

I watched Paul Ryan introduce his family at the Republican Convention. I was appalled that this man could look at his beautiful little girl and think it was fine to pass a law that would make it illegal for a doctor to save her life if she had a medical crisis during a pregnancy. And be willing to let his wife and all other women die as well.

For 14 years in Congress Ryan has tried to ban all abortions, even to save the life of the mother.

This is religious fanaticism, being willing to let someone else die for his religious belief. This is also unbelievable hypocrisy from a man who professes limiting the reach of government.

On Aug. 23, 2012, he said on WJHL TV in Washington, D.C., when discussing why there shouldn't be abortion even in cases of rape, that rape is "a method of conception."

Wow. You know, like lovemaking, just without the love.

There are 32,000 pregnancies from rape every year in the U.S. According to what we hear from the right wing, those wouldn't happen if they were "legitimate rapes" because somehow a woman's body shuts down if she is in terror. Our magical lady parts are able to tell the difference about when to accept love sperm compared to rejecting rape sperm.

Uh huh. When it comes to women, these guys have really great minds - of the 16th century.
