Laporte sheep line up for a spring shearing before lambing begins
Park Rapids Minnesota PO Box 111 56470

Byron Johnson, of Bemidji, purchases the wool based on weight and ships it to Illinois, where it is cleaned and processed. By the end of the shearing this week, Johnson had 180 pounds of wool. The sheep are sheared a few weeks before the lambing process begins. "It keeps things cleaner," Frank said.
