Kurt Eugene Blumberg, 53, of New Brighton, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 13, 2014.
Kurt was born in Minneapolis, Dec. 8, 1960 to Eugene and Joan Blumberg, currently of Park Rapids. He graduated valedictorian from Apple Valley High School with interests in sports and theatrics. Kurt earned degrees in Finance and Economics, Summa Cum Laude from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire and a Master's Degree in Finance from the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota.
Kurt scored third in the nation on the CPA exam and earned a place in the National and Minnesota Hall of Fame. He held executive level roles at companies such as Accenture (Sr. Exec), GfK Custom Research (CFO), Sysco (VP), and Morey Fish Co (VP).
Kurt loved going to Twins games, movie and wine nights, spending time with family, and doing home and yard care. Kurt also enjoyed attending and watching the boys' ball games, working out, traveling and reading suspense novels.
Kurt is survived by wife, Polly; children, Joe, Dan, Paulina Chav and Sovanny (Daniel) Rasmussen; parents, Joan and Eugene; siblings, Kelly Dudley, Keith (Tammy); nieces and nephews, Jessica (Joe) Hensel, Ryan Blumberg, Danielle Tharaldson, Dale and Anthony Kreins; and Valerie Johnson (mother of Joe and Dan).
Kurt's charismatic personality, selflessness and friendly smile will be deeply missed by all.

Funeral service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, visitation begins at 10 a.m. at Gracepoint Church, 2351 Rice Creek Rd., New Brighton.
Memorials preferred to the family and all donations received will be distributed to Kurt's favorite charities.
