Knute Nelson, with offices at 104 Park Ave. North, Suite 102, is a member of the Care Ventures Cooperative, a collaborative of 16 rural nursing facilities in Minnesota.

Knute Nelson will work closely with other cooperative members and consultant geriatric pharmacist to develop and implement a specialty program aimed at the reduction of medications and treatments for skilled nursing facility residents.

Staff will ensure all medications are relevant and necessary, and also identify ways to reduce psychopharmacologic drugs, with a focus on antipsychotics.

“Our ultimate goal with this grant is to reduce unnecessary medications and improve the quality of living for our residents,” comments Angie Urman, senior vice president of operations at Knute Nelson. “We are committed to clinical excellence and this grant is yet another example of how we are able to improve our delivery of care.”
