Kilfoyle-Steward leads LP-GE past Warriors
Cody Kilfoyle-Steward rushed for four touchdowns in leading Long Prairie-Grey Eagle to a 45-24 Prairie North Conference win over the United North Central football team last Friday night at Menahga.
Kilfoyle-Steward scored on TD runs of 17 and 50 yards and John Dinkel caught a 21-yard TD pass as the Thunder led 20-0 after the first quarter.
After Brandon Junes' 2-yard TD run at the 5:35 mark pulled UNC to within 20-8, a 32-yard TD run by Alex Lemke and 5-yard TD run by Kilfoyle-Steward gave LPGE a 33-8 advantage at the half.
Junes hit Keiler Skaro on an 81-yard TD route at the 8:01 mark of the third quarter, but LPGE countered with a 46-yard TD run by Kilfoyle-Steward and a 1-yard TD plunge by Preston Pung for a 45-16 lead.
The Warriors ended the scoring with a 40-yard TD run by Junes with 28 seconds to play.
Junes completed 11 of 17 passes for 244 yards with Tanner Schwartz catching five passes for 113 yards and Skaro making three catches for 94 yards. Junes also led the Warriors' rushing attack with nine carries for 54 yards.
Defensively, Bob Lusti made eight tackles while Dylan Huttunen and Taylor Carlson were in on seven tackles apiece.
