Karen Ann (Cook) Brown, 75, of Park Rapids, went to be with her Lord and Savoir, Jesus Christ Monday, Oct. 28, 2013.

Karen was born to Ernest and Ada (Hall) Cook April 23, 1938, in Bloomfield, Neb., where she grew up with her 12 brothers and sisters.

Karen attended Bloomfield High in Nebraska and soon after high school she married her sweetheart, Jesse William Brown, June 17, 1955. Through this marriage, she was blessed with four children, Jeffrey Linn, Scott Aaron, Matthew Allen, and Robin Elizabeth. Soon after her marriage to her husband, Jesse, the couple moved to Denver, Colo. where they lived for several years before making their journey to Park Rapids, in the 1960s.

Karen resided in Park Rapids for 46 years where she worked at Red Owl, Super Valu, Country Store, and J & B Foods in the bakery departments.

Karen enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles, flower gardening, bird watching, and volunteering for the Bearing Precious Seed Ministry of her church.

Karen is survived by her twin brother, Keith Cook of Arizona; sons, Jeffrey Brown of Park Rapids, Scott Brown of Nevis, Matthew (Allyn) Brown of Park Rapids; daughter, Robin (Russell) Smith, Jr. of Park Rapids; grandchildren, Angela Brown, Gini Bower, Russell Smith III, Amanda Nazario, Jessie Smith, Cole Hallett, Roxanne Johnson, and Sarah Hanisch; 12 great-grandchildren; step grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse; 11 of her brothers and sisters; and granddaughter.

Funeral service: will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, at First Baptist Church in Park Rapids.

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 at First Baptist Church in Park Rapids, and also one hour prior to the services.

Interment: Riverside Cemetery in Osage.
