Joyce L. Quinn, 87, of Lake Park, died Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Sunnyside Care Center, Lake Park.
Joyce Lela Jensen was born to Clarence and May (Gladen) Jensen on March 26, 1921 near Rochert. Joyce grew up and received her education at Highland Park District 87 School in Holmesville Township, Becker County. She graduated from Detroit Lakes High School. After school, she worked for three years at St. Mary's Hospital as a nurse's aide. Joyce married Ray Quinn of Nebraska. They had two children, Yvonne and Charles. Joyce was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed working with beads and other crafts.
Joyce will be remembered by her sisters, Penny (Bud) Barnick of Fort Worth, Texas, Phillis M. Jensen of Hawley and Reverend Faith R. Jensen of Baton Rouge, La.; brother, Verne (Marian) Jensen of Santa Barbara, Calif.; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; daughter, Yvonne and son, Charles; as well as two brothers, Austin and Wallace Jensen. Gratitude is expressed to the staff at Sunnyside Care Center for their loving care.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes.
Graveside services are set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30 at Egelund Cemetery, rural Detroit Lakes, with the Rev. Faith Jensen officiating. The David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes is assisting the family with arrangements. An online guestbook is available at www.daviddonehower.com.
