John Harley Kisner Jr., 42, of Park Rapids, died Friday, April 17, 2009 near Park Rapids, as a result of a motorcycle accident.
He was born May 2, 1966 to John Harley Kisner Sr. and Lois Maxine (Francis) Kisner in Long Beach, Calif. He grew up and attended school in Cypress, Calif. After high school he went to work as a long haul truck driver.
He married Kirsten K. Naeve on June 29, 1996 at Riverside United Methodist Church in Park Rapids. They lived in California for the first year of their marriage. In 1998 they moved to Park Rapids, where they have lived since. He worked as a logging truck driver and driving milk truck for Kemps Dairy Products Inc.
He was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church in Park Rapids.
He is survived by his wife; three children: Alex, Abbey and Grace, all of Park Rapids; his mother, Lois, of Cypress, Calif.; his father, John, of Parker, Ariz.; four sisters: Lisa (John) Osslund, of Escondido, Calif.; Joyce (Paul) Nikolau, of Huntington Beach, Calif.; Jackie (Brian) Thomas, of Portland, Ore., and Loris, of Cypress, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and many aunts and uncles.
Casket bearers: Jeff Naeve, Justin Houghton, Alex Ehler, Kyle Thomas, Ryan Naeve and Scott Johnson.
Funeral service: 1 p.m. today (Wednesday), April 22 at Riverside United Methodist Church in Park Rapids with Pastor Don Bird as officiant. Linda Szuszitzky will be the organist. Special musical selections will be "Time of Your Life," "America Pie" and "On The Road Again." Congregational Hymn will be "Amazing Grace."
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment: Greenwood Cemetery, Park Rapids.
A trust fund for the John Harley Kisner Jr. family has been set up at State Bank of Park Rapids.
