Irene Mildred Otto Grams, 87, of Park Rapids, died Friday, July 12, 2013 at St. Joseph's Area Health Services in Park Rapids.

Irene Otto was born May 16, 1926 the daughter of Adolph and Anna (Fleuter) Otto in Clara City, where she graduated from high school in 1944.

Irene attended Minneapolis Business College after which she worked in Minneapolis for five years.

On Oct. 27, 1950 she was united in marriage to Paul A. Grams in Clara City. Together they had four children, Lynette Grams Chilson, Craig Grams, Tom Grams and Tim Grams. Irene also has three grand- children, Jennifer, daughter of Lynette and John Chilson; and Trevor and Brian, sons of Craig and Lynn Grams. Family always came first for Irene, and was very important to her.

Irene's activities centered around her family, Brownies and Girls Scouts, Boy Scouts, teaching Sunday school as well as being very active in quilt making at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids. She was also very active with the Hospital Auxiliary for many years. She was a former Park Rapids Area Hospice volunteer.

Irene is survived by her husband, Paul of Park Rapids; two sons, Craig (Lynn) Grams of Glenallen, Alaska and Tim (Dana) Grams of Anchorage, Alaska.

She was preceded death by her parents; brother, Howard Otto; daughter, Lynette; son, Tom; and one son who died at birth.

Funeral service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 17 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids. Pastor Steve Norby will be the officiant.

Visitation: 5 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 16 at Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Park Rapids and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Interment: Bethel Lutheran Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials may be given to the Calvary Lutheran Church - Kitchen Fund, the Park Rapids Area Hospice Program and the Park Rapids Living at Home program.
