Hubbard County in winter weather advisory; 3-6 inches of snow forecast
Hubbard and several adjacent counties have been included in a winter weather advisory, which includes Park Rapids.
The advisory is from 1 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 18.
Accumulations from 3 to 6 inches of snow/sleet are forecast, according to the National Weather Service in Grand Forks, but “uncertainty exists to the actual placement of the snow band,” weather service officials say. A sharp cutoff of snow follows along the band.
Winds will become northerly at 15 to 25 mph with some higher gusts.
Blowing and drifting snow can be expected, especially in the band where it’s falling, with reduced visibilities.
A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties.
Motorists are advised to be prepared for snow-covered roads.
Counties include Hubbard, Becker, Wilkin, Otter Tail, Wadena, Grant, Sargent and Richland.
