Hubbard County region sees more than 6 inches of new snow

It sure feels like way more than 6+ inches on the shovel.

That's the National Weather Service's best guess for snow totals I the Park Rapids area, since the Hubbard County region doesn't have cooperating weather observers in the vicinity.

But the area was alive and noisy with the sound of plows Monday, as heavy Super Bowl snows slowed school buses and motorists alike.

"It looks like you're out of the woods for now," said NWS meteorologist Dan Riddle. "The skies cleared out overnight.

"This week you may see some flurries but that's about it. By the weekend some weak disturbances may pass through" bringing dustings of new snow. Snowfall totals as of Monday morning for other areas include 3.5 inches in Bemidji, 7.5 inches in Detroit Lakes, 5.5 inches at Itasca, 6 inches in Sebeka and 5.5 inches in Wadena.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around -12. Wind chill values as low as -19. North wind between 3 and 7 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 15. Wind chill values as low as -22. Calm wind becoming south southeast around 5 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around -8. Wind chill values as low as -17. South wind around 5 mph.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 16. South southeast wind between 5 and 7 mph.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 4.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 21.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 5.

Saturday: A slight chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 20.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 3.

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 24.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 3.

Presidents' Day: Mostly sunny, with a high near 26.
