House fire near downtown Park Rapids may have been caused by Friday storm
A state fire marshal is investigating a house fire just north of downtown Park Rapids early Friday morning.
Neighbors told the Enterprise they heard a loud boom sound as if lightning had struck during an early morning storm. Firefighters were called to the home on Main Avenue and Monico Lane around 4:30 Friday.
Fire Chief Donn Hoffman said he wouldn't speculate on the cause. Two turrets on the roof and a third floor bedroom were damaged, he said.
