Hospital ICU to move temporarily Oct. 12
Effective Tuesday, Oct. 12, patients being admitted to St. Joseph's Area Health Services Intensive Care Unit (ICU) will be located in a temporary unit established on the hospital's second floor.
The move is a result of renovation and improvements being made to the ICU Department located on St. Joseph's main level.
In order to best serve patients admitted for intensive care, St. Joseph's has dedicated ICU rooms on second. This will allow for the least disruption for patients and their families as construction gets under way.
The renovation project will enhance quality services provided in the ICU and augment the healing experience for patients. Patient rooms and work environments will match updates made during St. Joseph's $28 million building and renovation project completed in 2009.
Renovations in the ICU will include new windows, lighting, furnishings and light remodeling.
ICU renovations are expected to conclude in December.
