Henning defeats Menahga boys twice

The Menahga boys basketball team dropped into a tie for third place in the Park Region Conference standings with a pair of losses to Henning.

Tanner Schwartz tallied a double-double with 28 points and 10 rebounds in leading the Braves to a 63-61 win at Pillager on Feb. 8. Henning kept the top spot in the conference with a 65-57 win over Menahga last Tuesday night and a 74-58 victory over the Braves Thursday night.

The two losses to Henning left the Braves with a 6-4 record in the conference and an 11-8 overall record. Henning is 9-1 in conference play while Pillager is 7-3 in the conference. Verndale also has a 6-4 conference record.

Braves top Pillager

Schwartz also led the Braves with six assists and three steals in the win over Pillager.

Austin Rudquist chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds while Austen Schwartz had five assists. Stetson Burkman pulled down six rebounds.

Henning tops Braves at Menahga

Tanner Schwartz's 19 points and nine rebounds led the Braves in the loss to Henning at Menahga.

Levi Schwartz had 11 points, Austen Schwartz had four assists and Burkman had three blocks.

Henning tops Braves at Henning

Henning solidified its spot atop the conference standings by defeating the Braves for the second time in three days.

Tanner Schwartz led the Braves with 19 points, eight rebounds and four blocks. Austen Schwartz (13) and Rudquist (10) also scored in double figures.
