Harold Ziegler, 83

Harold Ziegler, 83, of Frazee died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007 in the Frazee Care Center under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

He was born to Martin and Nettie (Rader) Ziegler Aug. 14, 1924 in Spruce Grove Township. He at-tended country school, Dist. 75, before attending Frazee High School graduating in 1942. He then moved to Bremerton, WA where he worked in the Naval Ship-yard during WWII. He moved back to the Wolf Lake area where he farmed.

He married Cecilia Hensel Jan. 26, 1953 in St. Paul. They lived in Park Rapids for a short time be-fore moving to Spruce Grove Township where they farmed. From 1955-71, he also drove school bus for Anderson Bus Co. in Frazee. In 1977, they moved to Frazee and he worked part time for the Furey Funeral Home assisting Barney Furey with funeral serv-ices. He also worked for Schwartz Ford in Detroit Lakes.

While in Wolf Lake, he served as a volunteer for the Wolf Lake Fire Department, on the Christ Lutheran Church Board and was a director of the Wolf Lake/Menahga Co-op Board. He was a member and served as an elder at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Jim (Marsha) of Rochert, Kelly of Crosby, Lee (Mary) of Duluth; two daughters, Lorie (Jim) Wood of Ramsey, Cherlyn (Joe) Lauber of St. Louis, MO; a sister, Gladene (Harvey) Jokela of Park Rapids; 10 grandchildren, one step grandchild and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Harold M.

Visitation: at the church one hour prior to the serv-ice.

Service: 11 a.m. today (Saturday) at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Frazee with Rev. William Aufdenk-amp officiating.

Burial: Spruce Grove Cemetery, rural Frazee.
