Lindsey Guzek and Brooke Yaggie combined for 33 points in leading Thief River Falls to a 73-37 victory over the Park Rapids girls basketball team Tuesday night at the Area High School gym.

A jumper by Carson Lee Christenson and a there-point play by Ashley Domino gave the Panthers a 6-4 lead with 14:00 to play in the first half.

A three-point play by Yaggie and a 3-pointer by Guzek sparked an 8-0 run as Thief River Falls claimed a 12-6 lead.

After a jumper by Marisa Rittgers made it 12-8 at the 8:52 mark, the Prowlers used a 3-pointer and jumper by Yaggie to spark a 12-2 run for a 24-10 lead with 5:07 remaining in the first half.

Layups by Christenson and Domino and two free throws by Christenson kept the Panthers within 29-17 at the break.

Five baskets by Guzek and three-point plays by Morgan Numedahl, Ashley Boen and Yaggie helped the Prowlers push their lead to 57-35.

Alyssa Carlson accounted for 11 points for the Panthers during that stretch with a jumper, a 3-pointer, two free throws and two baskets in the lane. Lydia Lutz and Christenson hit jump shots and Anna Grimes made two free throws as the Panthers were outscored 28-18 to start the second half.

Thief River Falls ended the game with a 16-2 run as Taylor Yliniemi's jump shot accounted for the Panthers' only points in the final 3:41.

Guzek scored 17 points and Yaggie added 16 points as all 11 Thief River Falls players contributed in the scoring column. The win lifted the Prowlers to 5-5 on the season.

Carlson led the Panthers with 12 points while Christenson (9) and Domino (5) combined for 14 more as the Panthers fell to 0-10 on the season.
