Group hopes to revive wind turbine
The Century School wind turbine may be rotating once again, powered, in part, by Hubbard County Master Gardeners’ sale of trees.
The wind turbine was damaged by lightning when the tornado moved through Park Rapids in the summer of 2011. Damage is estimated at $7,100, with a $5,000 insurance deductible to be met.
The Master Gardeners hope to “revive” the wind turbine project by hosting a sale of conifers growing on the Century School prairie by Western Avenue.
