Grand Rapids soldier's funeral Saturday
- Funeral services are set for an Army helicopter pilot from Minnesota who died with three other soldiers in northern Iraq.
Chief Warrant Officer Philip E. Windorski Jr., 35, who grew up in Grand Rapids, died Jan. 26 when two Kiowa Warrior helicopters crashed in Kirkuk.
Windorski's funeral is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids.
The military says the crash did not appear to be the result of hostile fire, but it remains under investigation.
Windorski and the other three soldiers were assigned to the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, 10th Mountain Division out of Fort Drum, N.Y.
