Grand Forks woman pleads not guilty to stealing $40K from dad
A Grand Forks woman accused of stealing more than $40,000 from her elderly father, who suffers from dementia, pleaded not guilty today to a felony theft charge.
Julie Skinner, 52, faces a maximum prison term of 10 years if she's convicted.
According to a police affidavit, Skinner used her power-of-attorney privilege to take funds from certain accounts she had control over and put the money toward her own expenses.
She has a pretrial hearing set for Feb. 3 in North Dakota District Court.
