Grand Forks police arrest man on terrorizing charge
A Grand Forks man was arrested Tuesday and expected to be charged with terrorism after he allegedly threatened and assaulted people with a knife in a south-end residence, police said.
A call came it at 3:37 p.m. Tuesday of a man with a knife in a residence at 2149 30th Ave. S., according to a news release from the Grand Forks police.
The location is less than two blocks behind the Carmike Cinemas movie multiplex.
Police found Robert Douglas Braun, 24, hiding in a closet in the residence and arrested him.
Victims at the scene said Braun threatened them with the knife, which police took as evidence.
A woman told police Braun grabbed her, held the knife to her throat and assaulted her, according to the police news report. A sergeant on duty said he didn't think Braun cut the woman with the knife.
Braun was jailed in the county correctional center and is expected to make a court appearance today on the terrorizing charge.
Police said the investigation continues.
