Girl falls 15 feet from window onto GF sidewalk
Police said a 4-year-old girl fell out of a second-story apartment window and dropped roughly 15 feet onto a downtown Grand Forks sidewalk, leaving her with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Lt. Grant Schiller said the girl was playing midday Saturday and was trying to talk to someone below the window, when she leaned on a screen and it gave way.
A person walking by called authorities after seeing the girl fall, Schiller said.
The girl, who authorities did not name, landed on her left side and suffered bruising. She was conscious when officials arrived at the scene and was able to talk to them.
Schiller said an adult and two other children were with the girl in the residence at the Current Apartments, 215 First Ave. N., before she fell.
He said police found no signs of neglect and that the girl's fall appeared to be an accident.
