Gary Wayne Robbins Sr., 67
Gary Wayne Robbins Sr., 67, of Park Rapids died Monday, July 9, 2007 at Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids.
He was born March 5, 1940 to Roy and Helen (Lundquist) Robbins in Sacramento, CA. As a young boy, he moved with his parents to the Park Rapids area and attended public school. He joined the Minnesota National Guard and was called into active duty in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
He married Barbara Louise Annis Oct. 12, 1963 at the Free Methodist Church in Park Rapids. Following his honorable discharge, he worked with his father clearing a right-of-way for the Bell Telephone Co. In 1968, he and his wife moved to Spokane, WA and he worked at the Spokane Steel Foundry for more than 27 years, retiring in 1995. They then returned to the Park Rapids area.
He is survived by two children, Gary Jr. (Brenda) and Rhonda (Jeremy) Goble, both of Park Rapids; two sisters, Beverly Martin of Spokane and Sharon Atkinson of Park Rapids; three brothers, Donald of Spokane, Kenneth (Betty) and Daryl (Lynn), both of Park Rapids; four granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2000 and three sisters, Wanda, Darlene and Janice.
Funeral: Friday, July 13 at Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids with Rev. Bill Ullom officiating.
Honorary casketbearers: Keith, Roy, Donald, Kenneth and Daryl Robbins and Joseph Conely.
Active casketbearers: Gary Jr., Loyd and Darin Robbins, Jeremy Goble, Richard Raidt and Duane Atkinson.
Interment: Robbins family plot in the Greenwood Cemetery.
