Funding needed for Fourth of July fireworks show in Park Rapids
This year's Fourth of July fireworks show will be bigger and better than ever, according to organizers.
With a bigger and better show, however, comes the need for more funding. The fireworks show is held at Red Bridge Park overlooking Fish Hook River.
The fireworks show is not free and no tax dollars are spent. It's arranged and funded completely by private, tax deductible donations.
In past years, much of the show was low to the ground and could only be seen in Red Bridge Park. Fireworks last year were much higher in the air and this year's show will be similar.
By getting bigger shells the fireworks can be seen by the entire community without needing to be at the park.
Contributions are tax deductible. Checks can be written to Park Rapids Rotary Fireworks Fund, PO Box 704, Park Rapids, MN 56470. A receipt will be given to document the tax deductible donation.
