Frazee woman sentenced on drug charge
A Frazee woman was sentenced to five years' supervised probation and 30 days in jail last week after pleading guilty to a felony drug charge.
Cynthia Lou Kern, 28, of 7001 Cherry Ave., No. 271, Frazee, pled guilty to a charge of fifth degree sale of a controlled substance on Dec. 28; at her sentencing on Wednesday, Jan. 28, a second felony count of the same charge was dismissed.
According to the original criminal complaint, Kern allegedly sold marijuana to a confidential informant for the West Central Minnesota Drug Task Force on two different occasions, April 8 and April 15, 2008. In both incidents, a half-ounce of marijuana was purchased by the informant for $65.
At her sentencing, Kern was given credit for time already served in jail and ordered to pay $1,212 in fines and court fees as a condition of her probation.
