Frazee rallies in second half to top Panthers

Frazee took control in the second half and Wadena-Deer Creek took control in the first half to hand the Park Rapids girls basketball team a pair of losses.

The Panthers held a 26-24 lead at the half before Frazee rallied for a 53-44 win Thursday night at Frazee.

At Wadena Friday night, the host Wolverines jumped out to a 42-20 lead at the half en route to a 67-33 Mid-State Conference victory.

Park Rapids fell to 0-5 in conference play and 0-12 overall.

Frazee rallies for win

Ashley Bachmann's five 3-pointers in the first half and Alexis Tappe's three 3-pointers and 16 points in the second half led Frazee to the win.

Three baskets by CarsonLee Christenson, two baskets by Anna Grimes and four free throws by Ashley Domino gave the Panthers a 26-24 lead at the half.

Two 3-pointers by Alyssa Carlson and three inside baskets by Domino led the Panthers in the second half as Frazee used a 29-18 run to rally for the win.

Tappe finished with 20 points and Bachmann added 18 points for the Hornets, who improved to 5-6.

Domino scored 10 points and had seven rebounds and two assists, Olivia Vaadeland grabbed 10 rebounds, Christenson had four steals and two assists, and Carlson had three steals for the Panthers.

Miron leads W-DC to win

Emily Miron scored 16 of her game-high 18 points in the first half in leading the Wolverines past Park Rapids.

Courtney Volkmann added 12 points for W-DC, which improved to 2-2 in the conference and 10-2 overall.

Christenson led the Panthers with 10 points.
