Bossart had been battling Parkinson's disease for several years, a disease he spoke about and shared with our viewers.

Bossart spent 42 years at WDAY as the familiar face on the 6 and 10 p.m. news.

When Bossart started at WDAY TV, the budding business of television news was so fresh and fun. Marv joined a cast of characters like Boyd Christensen. Dewey Bergquist. Later, Marv would sit with the station's first female anchor, Claudia Danovic.

He was always a teacher and perfect teammate to those who worked alongside him on the set: Claudia, Maureen Zimmerman, Stacie Schaible, Najla Amundson and Kerstin Kealy were his co-anchors.

Over the years at Minnesota State University Moorhead, Bossart taught hundreds of journalism students, many who stayed in the business and are now practicing professionals across the country.

Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday in Nativity Catholic Church in Fargo. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in the church.
