Food Shelf to participate in Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless
The Hubbard County Food Shelf will be participating in the fourth annual Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless challenge grant in July.
Donations made during July will be matched up to $5,000 by Open Your Heart. The more funds the food shelf raises, the larger the matching grant will be.
Minnesota food shelves raised over $1 million last year with this grant and hopes are to outpace that this year.
Since 1986, Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless has targeted millions of dollars to strategically fight hunger in Minnesota.
Open Your Heart funds the purchase and transfer of more than one million pounds of fresh produce, meat and dairy products every year through Hunger Solutions Minnesota.
Checks to the Hubbard County Food Shelf may be mailed to 308 Pleasant Ave., Park Rapids, MN 56470.
