After "15 months of planning and a lot of fundraising," the flagpole was officially dedicated Saturday at Lakeview Cemetery in Nevis. The Uff Da! Days Organization purchased the pole at the request of local veterans. Members of the Marine Honor Guard arrived, Ray Vaadeland played taps and Autumn Rose Pendegayosh sang the "Star Spangled Banner." The ground breaking was in mid-April, with area veterans, Uff da! Days members and other volunteers assisting. (Jean Ruzicka / Enterprise)
