Park Rapids also placed in the 200 dash, 400 dash, 800 run and 4 x 200 relay.

"I thought we did OK. Fifteen of our athletes are 8th-10th graders, so we are pretty young and inexperienced. Along with a few injuries, team results are going to be limited," said Park Rapids head coach Patrick Deegan, whose team compiled 17 points for ninth place in its outdoor debut. "Individually, we had a lot of improvements. As long as I can see improvements from week to week, I will be happy."

Pequot Lakes led this nine-team field with 175 points. Roseau was second with 140 points. Nevis finished seventh with 33 points.

Bryon Schuldt won the 1,600 run in 4:47.05 and Hunter Schroeder finished second by clearing 5 feet, 6 inches in the high jump to lead Nevis.

This Tuesday's Park Rapids Invitational has been canceled. Instead, the Panthers will compete in the Pequot Lakes Invitational.

Boys team totals: Pequot Lakes 175, Roseau 140, Crookston 58, Pine River-Backus 42, Bagley/Fosston 40, Walker-Hackensack-Akeley 35, Nevis 33, Clearbrook-Gonvick 18, Park Rapids 17.
