Fire destroys mobile home in Eckles Township

A mobile home in Eckles Township was destroyed by fire Sunday.

According to a press release from the Bemidji Fire Department:

A passing motorist at 1 p.m. called in a fire on the 11000 block of Jack Pine Road Northwest. Bemidji firefighters arrived on scene and found a 14-foot-by-70-foot mobile home completely burned to the ground.

It is believed that the fire began in the morning while the home's occupants were away. No injuries were reported.

The fire caused about $30,000 in damage to the home and its contents, which were all destroyed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Bemidji Fire Department, however, no foul play is suspected and it appears to be accidental in nature.

Assisting at the scene were the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, Beltrami Electric Cooperative and Bemidji Ambulance Service.
