The Upper Bottle Lake seasonal resident took up running in 1979 after returning to the U.S. from living and working in Iran.

What began with a sprint around the block in 20-year-old basketball shoes progressed to a notable running and racing career.

With more than 80 marathons and over 70 ultras under his belt, one of Eddie's remaining long-term goals is to finish his 50th consecutive Twin Cities Marathon at 92.

Breaking training runs and long races down into small segments has helped Eddie run nearly 65,000 miles over his career.

Recently, at 73, he garnered a third place male overall finish in a 72-hour UltraCentric race in Texas, covering 188.2 miles and giving him a notable finish among the 18 entries of mostly younger entries.
