Harold Reier was hunting with Fargo resident David Lee Johnson, 57, near Wyndmere, N.D., an hour southwest of Fargo. The men were shooting at targets with a .22-caliber pistol when the pistol jammed, firing a round that struck Reier in the right leg.

Reier remained in satisfactory condition Sunday night at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo.

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department and the Richland County Sheriff's Office investigated the incident. No charges will be filed.
