Fargo Police Sgt. Mark Lykken said officers responded to Sanford Medical Center's emergency room for a report of an individual with severe cuts to the face.

The 23-year-old victim had been at a party in the 700 block of 11th Street North when an argument broke out at about 3 a.m. and he was stabbed in the face, Lykken said.

An acquaintance at the party brought the victim to the hospital, he said.

The investigation led police to arrest Shane Michael Curtis on suspicion of aggravated assault and a Ward County warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Cass County Jail.
