Fairbanks' sister is prosecution witness; mistrial in Dewey case denied
CROOKSTON -- The sister of Thomas Fairbanks testified for the prosecution today in his trial on charges that he murdered Mahnomen County Sheriff's Deputy Christopher Dewey and assaulted a dozen other officers.
But it was clear her sympathy is with her brother.
Rachel Fairbanks had to dab her eyes with tissues several times while testifying and, listening to others testify, she sat on the defense side of the courtroom with relatives.
