ER handicapped accessibility to be redirected Monday in Park Rapids
St. Joseph's Area Health Services is working to improve the east Emergency Department (ED) entrance area beginning Monday. Once completed, improved public access and renovated handicapped accessibility will bring better service to patients and their families.
During the week of Aug. 16, repairs and improvements will start at the ED entrance. Patients and guests are encouraged to watch for directional signs. Anyone with wheelchairs or motorized carts is asked to use the Emergency entrance ramp located on the north side of the building.
St. Joseph's south entrance and main lobby is also an alternative for complete access to the hospital. Lobby hours are from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. weekdays and 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on weekends.
Plans are to re-open the entrance doors mid-week, although handicapped accessibility could be limited through the weekend. It is hoped improvements made will enhance the healing experience for those who arrive to receive care.
St. Joseph's remains committed to deliver healthcare based on core values including Reverence, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence.
