Elaine D. Thayer, 75, of Park Rapids, formerly of Truman, died Sunday, May 12, 2013 at St. Joseph's Area Health Services in Park Rapids.

Elaine was born April 16, 1938 to Tyler and Hazel (Dorothy) Williams in Tru-man. She grew up there and attended Truman High School.

She married William R. Thayer Feb. 12, 1955 in Truman. She was a home-maker and together they farmed at Truman. She later moved to Park Rapids, where she lived for the past 25 years.

She was a former member of the Church of Christ Church in Truman and also attended Riverside United Methodist Church in Park Rapids.

She was a kind person who always saw the good in everyone.

She is survived by her sons, Allen Thayer of Indi-anola, Iowa, Roger (Joanne) Thayer of Trimont; daughter, Kimberly (Mike Pham) Thayer of Tustin, Calif.; sisters, Betty (Melvin) King of Windom, Joan (Law-rence) Krenz of Redwood Falls; brothers, Tyler (Betty) Williams of Dunnell, Dale (Geneva) Williams of Mansfield, Ohio, Dean (Sandy) Williams of Renville, Marvin Williams of Mar-shall; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Tyler Williams; husband, William R. Thayer; sister and brother-in-law, Maxine & Charlie Malmanger; and sister-in-law Ann Williams.

Funeral service: was held Thursday, May 16, at 11 a.m. at Cease Family Funeral Home of Park Rapids.

Visitation: was held for one hour prior to the ser-vices at the funeral home.

Interment: were held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 17 at Ridgelawn Cemetery at Truman.
