East Grand Forks had nine different players score a goal in an 11-2 win to spoil the season opener for the Park Rapids-Menahga-Nevis-Walker-Hackensack-Akeley boys hockey team Saturday at the Ted O. Johnson Ice Arena.

The Green Wave, which opened the season with a 4-1 loss to Bemidji Thursday night and a 5-1 loss to Brainerd Friday night, scored four power-play goals in five chances and held a 39-11 advantage in shots on goal en route to the win.

Tommy Hajicek had a goal and four assists, Cory Mack had two goals and two assists, Zack Lawdermilt and Gage Ausmus had a goal and three assists each, and Tucker Poolman had two goals and an assist to lead the Green Wave.

Sam Coborn set up Ian Johnson at the 10:15 mark of the first period to pull the Panthers to within 2-1. EGF held an 11-3 edge in shots on goal in the opening period.

The Green Wave scored four unanswered goals before Levi Erickson tallied an unassisted goal at the 4:55 mark of the third period. EGF ended the game by scoring five more goals, including a power-play goal by Lawdermilt.

Poolman and Ausmus had power-play goals in the second period while Mack opened the third period with a power-play goal. The Green Wave held a 14-2 advantages in shots in the final period.

EGF goalie Hunter Aubol made nine saves while Park Rapids goalie Scott Smith finished with 28 saves.
