DWI snowmobile crash north of Grand Forks injures two
A Fargo man was arrested on suspicion of driving a snowmobile while intoxicated after striking a man in the parking lot of a Manvel, N.D., hockey arena Saturday afternoon.
Daniel Halcrow, 25, was operating a snowmobile that hit John Kinney, 44, of Manvel, and pinned him against his pickup around 1 p.m., said Sgt. Ron Gibbens of the Grand Forks County Sheriff's Department.
Gibbens said Kinney suffered injuries to his legs and Halcrow received stitches on his leg. Both men were treated and released from Altru Hospital on Saturday.
The sergeant said Halcrow was driving an older snowmobile and wasn't able to turn to avoid Kinney who was standing in the lot of the Jason Stadstad Hockey Arena with two other people. "He was the unlucky one," Gibbens said.
Halcrow posted $300 to be released from the county jail Saturday.
