Duluth writer was incorrect
A writer from Duluth on 10-6-10 misquoted a statement in my 9-25-10 letter as follows: "the 'problem' is not government, but candidates." No, there is nothing inherently dishonorable in being a candidate for public office. The original statement was: "'The problem' is not government, but candidates for office who attack government."
Notable among those attackers are tea party candidates. Nevertheless the Duluth writer claims that their victory over progressives on Nov. 2 would prove "Gibbs is correct." The writer could be correct, but not in the way he has imagined.
