Driver faces charges for crash that killed New York Mills football captain
The 21-year-old driver in a car accident that killed a New York Mills teenager is facing four felony criminal vehicular homicide charges.
Daniel Edmund Resch is charged with driving over the legal limit in the July accident that ended in the death of 18-year-old Tyler Vernon Bell. A 15-year-old NY Mills passenger also suffered injuries.
Bell was a 2010 NY Mills graduate, where he was captain of the football team and was named All-Conference.
Resch was charged Tuesday in Otter Tail County Court with two felony criminal vehicular homicide counts of operating a motor vehicle in a grossly negligent manner and two counts of operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
A warrant for Resch's arrest was issued Nov. 22 - it was quashed Dec. 13. His next court date has not yet been set.
