Donna Anderson, 70, of Blaine, died at home Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Park Rapids to Joe and Hortense Thelen. She graduated from high school in Park Rapids and was married in Park Rapids.

They moved to Blaine in 1963. She worked for over 35 years for Unisys in Roseville.

She loved to read and in her younger years she was a competitive women's softball player and an awesome bowler who won many trophies. She enjoyed spending time up at the lake in Park Rapids, fishing, and also at the family hunting shack. She was a good cook and during the holidays she would spend hours in the kitchen preparing a holiday meal that even Martha Stewart would be jealous of. She loved to shop with her granddaughters and her family was everything to her.

She is survived by her children, Connie (Pat) Greig and Blain (Dar) Anderson; grandchildren, Tiffany, Brittany, Whitney, Nadine and Sophie; three brothers, Joe (Barb) Thelen of Mesa, Ariz., Tom (Winnie) Thelen of Park Rapids, and Bob (Cheryl) Thelen of Monticello; nine sisters, Marie Kueber of Park Rapids, Fran Morris of Mesa, Ariz., Pat (Jim) Boyd of Osage, Adeline (Gary Geller) Retz of Park Rapids, Norma Thelen of Gilbert, Ariz., Carol (Russell) Schwartz of Menahga, Christine (Duane) Kueber of Park Rapids, Vicky (Kirk) Dittmer of Wabena, Wis. and Virginia (Glen) Anderson of Waubun; brothers-in-law, Bud and Erwin Anderson; and sister-in-law, Helen Johnson.

Preceded in death by her husband, Donald Anderson; parents, Joe and Hortense Thelen; sisters, Margaret Thelen and Catherine Schoen; and brother, Loren Thelen.

Services: were held on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 at St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Blaine.

Interment: Morningside Memorial Gardens, in Coon Rapids.

The family prefers memorials to American Cancer Society.
