Donald M. Lewis, 71, of Bagley, died on Friday, November 14, 2008 at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji.

Donald Milton Lewis was born the son of Francis and Selma "Peggy" (Rosenquist) Lewis on July 22, 1937 in Minerva Township, Clearwater County, Minn., at their country farm south of Bagley, where he grew up and attended school through the eight grade. He was employed with Nelson Farms and also worked on his family farm. On June 1, 1963, Donald married Janet Jordahl at Bagley. They made their home south of Bagley.

Donald enjoyed playing his accordion, playing cards and being with his beloved family. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and being outdoors. Donald will be remembered for his kind heart and love of music.

Surviving Donald are his four children, Jennifer (Bill) Anderson of Moorhead, Gaylene (Randy) Smith of Frazee, Karmen Lewis of Detroit Lakes and Francis Lewis of Glyndon, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three sisters, Charlene Lundin, Lorna (Herbert) Johnson Helm

and Donna Ehlers, all of Bagley; two brothers, Chester (Alice) Lewis and Leonard (Lillian) Lewis, both of Bagley; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers-in-law, Mayvin, Martin and Raymond.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, with a 6 p.m. prayer service, at the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley, continuing for one hour before services at the church on Tuesday.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18 at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bagley.

Active casket bearers will be Gail Friborg, Gary Johnson, Elroy Lewis, Jody Ehlers, Ricky Lewis, Curtis Lewis, Denise Conner and John Jordahl. Honorary Casket bearers will be Donald's 13 grandchildren- Aaron, Jamie, Ashley, Heather, Kayla, Kristina, Katie, Dustin, Bryant, Tiffany, Keeton, Nathaniel and Payton.

Interment will be at Rice Lutheran Cemetery in Zerkel. Cease Family Funeral Home is providing arrangements. Messages of condolence may be sent online to www.ceasefuneralhome.com.
