Detroit Lakes used a 15-3 run midway through the second half to spark a 61-41 win over the Park Rapids girls basketball team Friday night at Detroit Lakes.

The Lakers jumped out to a 10-4 lead before jumpers by Ashley Domino, Carson Lee Christenson, Sophie Shogren and Hannah Wolff tied the game at 12-12 with 7:05 to play in the first half.

After two free throws by Wolff and a layup by Domino tied the game at 16-16 with 5:16 remaining, Detroit Lakes went on an 11-4 run to take a 27-20 lead into the break. Hailey Lundin had both baskets for Park Rapids during that stretch.

A pair of 3-pointers by Wolff and a jumper by Christenson kept the Panthers within 37-28 with 12:05 to play. The Lakers then went on an 11-0 run before Wolff hit a 3-pointer with 7:25 to play. Two more baskets by the Lakers pushed the lead to 52-31 with 6:22 left.

Wolff hit another 3-pointer with 6:10 remaining, but the Panthers managed only a 3-pointer by Shogren, free throws by Domino and Melissa Haas, and a jumper by Shelby Pierce the rest of the way.

Wolff led the Panthers with 16 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four blocked shots. Christenson also had eight rebounds and Lundin had six rebounds for the Panthers, who turned the ball over 24 times in falling to 0-5 in conference play and 1-12 overall.

Courtney Gray (16) and Jenny Matter (14) hit double figures for the Lakers, who improved to 2-3 in the conference and 3-10 overall.
