Detroit Lakes police were involved in a car chase Friday morning that started with a shoplifting complaint at Walmart and ended up at the White Earth powwow grounds.

A 42-year-old man was arrested after his Buick Regal was forced off the road by a Becker County deputy.

He was still being treated in the emergency room at Essentia St. Mary's several hours after his arrest for unspecified injuries, possibly from dog bites, according to Detroit Lakes Sgt. Chad Glander.
