Deer River man sentenced after standoff with deputies
Minnesota man involved in a standoff with deputies in Larimore last October has been sentenced to more than two years in prison.
Branden Kuck of Deer River was accused of hitting his wife and firing a handgun several times inside his family's recreational vehicle, after he had been drinking.
Authorities say Kuck later emerged from the RV with the gun, scuffled with deputies and was eventually subdued. No one was seriously hurt.
Northeast Central District Judge Sonja Clapp sentenced Kuck to 27 months in prison on several charges including terrorizing and assaulting a peace officer.
Kuck was working on pipeline construction at the time of the incident. His attorney says his client is ashamed of what happened, and remorseful.
