Update: Missing 5-year-old from fatal Bemidji fire found alive

Death investigation begins in Ogema

ST. PAUL — The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), Becker County Sheriff's Office and White Earth Tribal Police Department are investigating the circumstances surrounding a death in the rural Becker County community of Ogema.

Last night at around 10 p.m. Becker County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a 911 call that an individual had been run over by a vehicle in the area of 370th Street East near Kay's Corner in Ogema. Upon arrival, deputies located a deceased male at the scene. Investigators determined that foul play may be involved and contacted the BCA for investigative and crime scene assistance.

Investigators are in the process of collecting evidence and conducting interviews.The individual's body is being taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy and formal identification. The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting the BCA, Becker County Sheriff's Office and White Earth
