Dearstyne seeks second term; filing for state, county offices under way
Hubbard County Attorney Donovan Dearstyne has announced he will seek a second term.
So far, no challengers have announced their intentions.
"The office has accomplished a great deal in the way of added revenue, efficiency and effectiveness," Dearstyne said in his announcement.
"In 2008, the office took over the prosecution for the City of Park Rapids misdemeanor cases providing almost $40,000 in annual revenue to Hubbard County. DWI cases and most domestic assault cases are processed more efficiently and effectively taking only three to four months to complete when they were taking six to twelve months before I took office."
Dearstyne is a Vietnam veteran and former police officer.
Filing for state and county offices began Tuesday and closes the afternoon of June 1.
