Council will follow up on city administrator candidate interviews this morning
The Park Rapids Council interviewed five candidates for city administrator Thursday and is scheduled to meet at 9 a.m. today to discuss their selection.
The candidates are:
? Janice M. Carlson, an accountant from Osceola, WI. She is business manager for the Somerset (WI) School District. Previously she worked from AgriBank of St. Paul. Carlson has a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater.
? Mark Gossman, Park Rapids, a log marketing supervisor for Potlatch Corp. Gossman also is a member of the Park Rapids Fire Department. He has a Bachelor of Arts in business management from St. Scholastica and a Bachelor of Science in forest resource management from Iowa State University.
? Kathy Grell, Park Rapids, an independent consultant to Team Industries, Baxter. Grell has been instrumental in establishing the Hubbard County Housing Partnership and serves on the Hubbard County Regional Economic Development Commission. She has a master's degree in business administration from the University of St. Thomas.
? Joel D. Peck, St. Paul, a member of the board of directors of the St. Paul Dist. 5 Planning Council and an intern with the League of Minnesota Cities. He holds a master's degree in public administration from Hamline University.
? William C. Smith, Great Bend, KS, CEO of We Care Project, Inc. a federally qualified community health center in rural central Kansas. Smith has a master's in hospital and healthcare administration from Ohio State University and a law degree from the University of Tulsa.
