Community Band to perform Sunday

The Park Rapids Area Community Band will perform its spring concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 6 at Park Rapids Area High School.

Erik Kiesz will be the marimba soloist for the spring concert. Kiesz has enjoyed playing piano and percussion for over 30 years. He lives in Fargo, N.D. and performs in many community bands and orchestras throughout Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Europe. He is employed as an Application Developer with Corlink Administration in Fargo. He is a graduate of Concordia College. Kriesz will be performing the "Concertino for Marimba and Winds" by Alfred Reed, accompanied by the band in Part III Toccata. Other composers featured in the concert are Perry Granger, Morton Gould, Gershwin and Charpertier. The conductor is Dr. Russel Pesola.
