Clearwater County high-speed chase ends in two-vehicle rollover
A pursuit culminated early Thursday morning in a two-vehicle rollover involving a Minnesota State Patrol squad car and a private pickup truck. The accident occurred at 1:21 a.m. on state Highway 200 in Clearwater County.
A Bemidji woman, who was a passenger in the suspect vehicle, suffered minor injuries.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol out of Detroit Lakes:
A 2009 Ford Crown Victoria State Patrol squad car was pursuing a 1997 Chevrolet GMT-400 east on Highway 200 leaving Mahnomen. The vehicles both rolled at Strawberry Mountain Road.
The trooper, Lucas M. McArthur, 25, of Detroit Lakes, did not appear to suffer any injuries but went to Essentia Health in Detroit Lakes. He was wearing his seat belt.
The driver of the suspect vehicle did not appear to have injuries. Erica L. Busse, 23, of Bemidji, a passenger in the suspect vehicle, went to Mahnomen Health Center with minor injuries. It was unknown if either occupant of the suspect vehicle was wearing a seat belt.
The squad car was totaled. The pickup sustained severe damage.
